Power vented hot water tanks are becoming very common. Our focus is to give you the best possible service and installation, and in order to do that we need a bit more information about these specific tanks. Just like the conventional water heater, most power vented tanks can be quoted over the phone with no additional charges. There is one factor that we need to consider when quoting your power vented water heater, and that would be the colour of your venting. White or grey venting is the proper material that a retrofit requires with no extra cost. If your venting is black, it is an older improper code and requires replacement. ANODE ROD PROGRAM
An anode rod is a sacrificial piece of magnesium located inside every hot water tank. The purpose of an anode rod is to protect your water heater, from things such as salt from a water softener, and break down opposed to breaking down the interior vessel of your tank. The anode is also cathodic protection against electrolysis in the plumbing of your home.
The average lifespan of a hot water tank ranges from ten to fifteen years on Calgary's hard water. Many homes now have water softeners which is something that's great for all the fixtures in your house, except the hot water tank. We have seen the average lifespan of water heaters on water softeners reduce to approximately six to eight years.
